Sometimes the sequel does more justice than the original... Is that the case here?

Film begins with the Avengers rushing through a snowy forest to take the fight to... Sadly, bad guys that were BARELY introduced at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Their mission: To capture Loki's dangerous sceptre... Good job forgetting to grab that in the last movie. So they bullshit with one another (Captain America even says "watch your language" which is funny at first but then gets dragged throughout the film WAY too much) as they kick butt, raid this facility and Iron Man gets the sceptre. But wait, one of the villains gets in his head and brings back all the horrific visions of him failing the Avengers and getting them all killed off against Thanos' alien army (Who isn't really in this movie save for a cameo at the end). So what does Iron Man decide?

"Hey, Banner... You wanna be lazy and shrug off all resposibility of being an Avenger? Let's tap into the dangerous alien AI somehow in Loki's sceptre and use it to build a global defensive computer called Ultron. It came to me the other day when I was watching The Terminator and Maximum Overdrive."
-Iron Man

And you guessed it, it backfires on them. Ultron winds up enlisting the two mutant bad guys that escaped the bad guy base. His decision, get strong metal (same alloy used for Captain America's shield) and build himself up like a non-scary version Saren from Mass Effect and destroy the whole world. The Avengers try to stop him from getting his hands on the metal but it turns into a whole clusterf*** when Scarlet Witch screws with all their heads save for Iron Man and Hawkeye. So now we have pretty much EVERYONE pissing and whining how worthless they are and are saved by Iron Man who continues his "I'm not a hero but a scared little wimp" speech from Iron Man 3... Because  you know, we didn't get enough of that the FIRST time. This is after Iron Man going balls out and stopping Hulk from destroying a city.

"Don't let my act of badassity encourage you, I'm gonna go back to whining and being afraid in a few moments."
-Iron Man

The Avengers pull outta their self-pity crap and decide to go after Ultron again and get this synthetic body Ultron designed to be the child of his new world. What's Iron Man's brilliant idea? To secretly upload the same dangerous AI merged with JARVIS (his cyber-butler software) thinking this'll make a GOOD artificial lifeform thing instead of Ultron who's still trying to kill us all... When at first you don't succeed, keep trying or die trying, right guys? Oh, and they decided to accept the mutant bad guys defection into the Avengers. So now they're off to stop Ultron (with the aid of their ultimate lifeform creation thing called Vision) from ripping the bad mutants home city from the Earth, ascending it to space just to smash it back into the Earth to cause a cataclysmic event that'll kill all life on the planet. So we get the majority of the same kinda spinning action shots from the first movie in this scene. Even SHIELD shows up in a flying aircraft carrier to help evacuate the civilians while the Avengers fight the hordes of SkyNet... Er, I mean Ultron. Who they kinda show dying at the end but it's also like they MIGHT bring him back... Okay, whatever happened to killing off these dangerous criminal terrorist people that're a major threat? Better yet, why is Thor even here? He only helped the first film because of Loki but he's not even in this film!

"Aww what?! That is bullshit! You guys told me he was gonna be behind this somehow! Screw this, I'm going back to Asgard!"
-Thor

So yeah, good fight scenes with lots of action. Some good humor but a lot of stupid jokes like the whole "better watch what you say around Captain America, he hates bad language" but it's okay to see Ultron rip a guy's arm off. I love some of the effects. Scarlet Witch kinda reminds me of Batman's Scarecrow (which is cool) and I do really like Black Widow's new outfit though they don't get into why it has lights now (To see her in the dark and check her out, I guess?). Speaking of Black Widow, they finally did more with her character as she has a love interest in Bruce Banner and is the only one to calm him down when he gets angry but come the Hell on, Marvel! This is the FOURTH movie you had her in and you're just making her seem like a human being NOW?! Once again, plot's a dumb excuse of sci-fi though the distastrous climax took some thought at least.

Sadly though, this film just felt jumbled together and dragged on for too long. Sad to say the first one is more entertaining... And I love Saren, I mean Terminator, DAMN IT, ULTRON!!! But he's one of few things I liked in the movie. The Avengers: Age of Ultron gets 2 out of 5 emotionally depressed heroes that just can't cut it. Because of how these Marvel flicks are going, just rehashing the same old crap, and personality quirks with minimal character development, I didn't even bother to see Civil War in theaters. Maybe I'll give it a chance on DVD but I'm not expecting a great film there either...

That outfit though! Be honest, who would've thought Black Widow would wind up on my like list because of this film?!
