I can't believe I'm saying this but Arkitk Vixen actually turned me onto WarCraft...
WarCraft... What to say? Well, it was originally a real time strategy game released in the 90s focusing on a war between Orcs and Humans. In 2002, they released WarCraft III which featured heroes of Orcs and Humans as well as introducing new races such as Night Elves, Draenei, Blood Elves, but this was a strategy game so I personally feel it only focused on what was important for the war in the game. World of WarCraft changed this by making an MMORPG in which you can be a created character of the numerous different races, and thanks to all the expansive packs there's even MORE selection including the Kung-Fu Pandarians...
There is a pretty in-depth story going throughout the game but with the amount of quests they send you on (which often feel like random errands like speak to this guy, get me alcohol, kill these monsters, gather stuff) I mostly just skip reading all of it, there's just not enough time in the day to read every little thing here. The combat and interaction is pretty easy, mostly done with mouse but you can use the keyboard as well so this is a game you can easily pick up and play without having to struggle for hours with keyboard configuration to your liking. My only concern with this, is the opening quests are so easy you might feel bored before getting to where the game gets intense, especially if you read all the dialogue. Just keep that in mind and stick with the game, give it a chance before deciding if you love or hate it.
The graphics can be a little cartoony and silly, especially those sexy Elf girls with their armor exposing their legs, and bellies, cleavage, neck... Though I heard a good idea that by exposing so much they may distract the enemy they're fighting... Anyways, I've even played this with my HughesNet Gen4 intenet service with my bandwidth cap exceeded (damn updates, damn you all to Hell) and still played pretty well. Some hickups but I think that should be expected with a game you're playing online with potentially millions of other people. But I think it holds up well and I have characters of several races including (you probably guessed it) a sexy Blood Elf chick, sexy Draenei chick, and Worgen badass...
The game's pretty basic, takes a lot of time and space on your Hard Disk (Like 30GB or something like that, and there's a NEW expension coming soon: Legion), not to mention it can dig into your wallet too... It's something like $60-$80 every 6 months to renew your subscription. But it is pretty fun if you can put that kinda cash aside for the same game over and over again. I like going around, jumping like an idiot, and killing baddies. Ultimately I'd give WoW 3 out of 5 sexy unarmored babes... It's good and fun and addicting for it's simplicity, but it costs too much when you can just buy the GOTY versions of Oblivion, Skyrim, and Dragon Age and not have to repay for a subscription or anything every couple of months. It's actually hard for me to rate this one as I WANT to give it a 4 or 5 but... Well... Let's just say my wallet is sad and lonely right now (It's okay, little guy... Things will get better...) | |
