You wanna know how Joker got the scars? Well... One day life gave him lemons, you see... And he didn't make lemonade...

Let's bat jump right into the action with mob bosses being ripped off by a gang of clowns that are killing each other off one by one to get a higher score. Gee, I wonder whose behind that. We then see Batman fighting goons which nearly got away thanks to the Batsuit's one weakness: Dogs. Then trials with Harvey Dent as the prosecutor and dating Bruce's old heart throb now played by another actress. I'm just gonna go all out and say this plot is all over the place with Joker being being hired to kill Batman than admitting he doesn't wanna kill Batman, mob bosses getting betrayed, and mostly Joker doing random shit that Batman can't figure out. It's not until he gets one of the famous Michael Caine (returning for his role as Alfred) speeches that it dawns on the caped crusader he might've met his match and potential lifetime nemesis.

"Duuuuuude! In case the white makeup and green hair didn't give it away, this bastard is a psycho! Rational shit doesn't matter to irrational people! This guy just wants to break people and stuff! Figure it out!"
-Alfred

But Batman realizes this way too late as Rachel dies and Harvey becomes Two-Face and Joker is gonna make civilians and prisoners who blows up who in the grand finale. But wait, no! The grand finale is the Batman taking on Two-Face whoooooooo really doesn't last too long. Which is a shame because this Two-Face is pretty menacing unlike the role played by Tommy Lee Jones.

"Well... Haha... That's uh, that's what? Two? Two classic and loveable villains that won't be in the sequel? Wow, haha. That's ummmm... Yeah that's bad."
-The Joker (RIP Heath Ledger)

This time the film actually focuses a LOT on Batman trying to solve crimes and earn his title as the World's Greatest Detective, and he does a pretty good job at that to the point he even outsmarts the legendary Joker. There's a lot of good Bat gadgets, really great action scenes and some surprising plot twists (sorry about spoilers). Not sure if it really can be compared to the classic Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson, but it's pretty enjoyable if you can endure the lengthy duration of the film (they crammed a LOT of stuff in here). I give The Dark Knight 5 out of 5 "why so serious" memes for being what it is: An amazing Batman movie true not just to the comic books but very original and a great action film as well.

I hate the new Batsuit though, it looks way too skinny and wimpy to be Batman.
