Is it worth the wait? Let's just see if it's better than MGS2 and Ground Zeroes...

Well... I'm like 50 hours in and I STILL haven't fully completed the game! So we don't have to worry about the whole "beat the game too early" thing that the MGS series is known for. Though now it's ridiculously long, and takes place in only 2 regions, Central Africa and Afghanistan... The game and guerrilla-like hit and run warfare is fun but the settings can become stale and boring, especially when you're 50 hours in.

"Hmm... Do I wanna explore the rocky desert to the northeast, northwest, southwest, or southeast? Damn I'm hungry, why don't I eat anything anymore?"
-Punished "Venom" Snake

Storyline? It begins right after Ground Zeroes when Big Boss's Mother Base was completely destroyed and Big Boss himself was critically injured and sent to an undisclosed hospital in Cyprus. The game begins with you waking up in the hospital 9 years after the attack only to be, you guessed it, attacked by the same assholes that blew up your home. So you lost your arm, you have shrapnel in your head that looks like a devil horn. You escape, now are working with Revolver Ocelet, have to rescue Miller from a village where he's been captured and tortured and has developed more than a chip on his shoulder... You learn the bad guys this time has a group of undead like soldiers that are super strong and super fast called Ghosts and Dr. Emmerich is forced to develop yet ANOTHER ultimate weapon, a walking robot that looks like a man with a dog nose and an afro called Sahelanthropus... Because that name just roles of the tongue doesn't it? There's a lot of dialogue and story telling but it's mostly backstory or pointless facts to connect the games. After defeating Sahelanthropus, Skull Face (leader of the assholes) dies in a cinematic... But that's not the whole game, oh no... There's a bunch of other crap in it from your troops turning on Dr. Emmerich to Psycho Mantis empowering a kid's (who shall not be revealed for spoiler sakes, can only reveal so much, you know) hatred towards his father to (OKAY... THIS IS A MAJOR SPOILER HERE SO SKIP THE LAST OF THIS PARAGRAPH IF YOU WANNA FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN!!!) discovering you don't actually play Big Boss but one of his men who had plastic surgery done as well as brainwashing so he would believe he's the legendary soldier as the so-called legendary soldier goes off to hide in a hole somewhere while everyone who hates him vents their anger by setting their sights on you.

"So I just tried to snipe your brains out, I'm letting you see most of my boobs and my ass while humming a tune that gets annoying as Hell! Doesn't that make it all okay? We're good right?"
-Quiet

Trying to sum this up: The game is fun but can gets to the point where you almost beg to see some new area. Once Skullface dies, you've pretty much seen all the open world regions have to offer. Metal Gear Solid has always been known to make women sexy and show off some skin, but the latest character, Quiet, seems to go overboard with this and they kinda tried to justify this with a bit of a backstory but they might as well have made her topless with a sign around her neck saying "I JUST know you want this! Too bad, neener neener neener..." But still, there's a lot of time I put into the game, I'm still interested in finding out more of the story, but at times it does feel like it just drags on and there could've been more to the gameplay. I gotta give MGS5: The Phantom Pain 4 out of 5 Snaaaaaaakes.
