Nope... Never was a fan of the COD games...
Modern Warfare: Reflex is merely the Nintendo Wii version of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Before reviewing this game, I'm gonna give a history of my experience with the COD games. First I played Call Of Duty 2: Big Red One on the Gamecube... With hate!!! I hated only allowed to carry 2 guns at a time, lack of a decent story, and my brothers of arms pushing my ass out of cover to be shot by the enemies THANKS ASSHOLES!!! Then I played Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on my PS3... With more hate!!! The graphics were good, and the multiplayer was fun (as is all FPS games), but couldn't stand the controls, being killable in just a few shots, health recharging when not being shot, and my fellow soldiers STILL pushed me out of cover! DOUCHEBAGS!!! Then I played Call Of Duty: World At War (AKA Call Of Duty 5, despite not being a sequel to COD4) on the Wii and although I didn't play for long, I finally enjoyed COD's gameplay. Soooo... I decided to give Modern Warfare another chance on the Nintendo Wii and this is what I have to say...
Ooooooooookay... So the graphics are better on PS3 and Xbox 360, but we already know the graphics on those systems are better. We buy FPS games on Wii because of the fun from aiming with the Wii remote! And that's precisely why I enjoy COD on the Wii and can't stand it on my PS3. But what of the story?
Well, you're not fighting Al-Quaeda like I originally thought you would. Instead, you play both a British SAS commando and a US Marine fighting 2 separate enemies in completely different areas. Being the SAS guy, you're fighting a group of "Ultranationalist" Russians during a time when Russia is at civil war, and the Marines are fighting somewhere in the Middle East against a tyrannical regime that executed the president of wherever the Hell they are that is never really revealed... Soooooo it's a fictional war that was NOT based on events that were actually modern when the game was made... "Who the Hell invited the Wookie/Swamp Thing guy?!?!" - Me
There's even a level where you're at Chernobyl in a Wookie suit (Helps you hide in the grass) that's pretty fun. My only dislikes for the game... Well, the Wii version anyway... The single-player mode is a bit short (Bit expected in most modern games though), before the credits you hear a voiceover saying "These were only tests, anything you heard about a war was merely bullshit, have a nice day.", and finally the regenerating health/2 gun limit style of gameplay but... That's how most modern FPSs are so what do you do? Hate all games because the designers like weak-ass protaganists?
But like I said, the innovative aiming brought by the Wii's controls really made the game a lot more fun to me and I can't wait to play Black Ops for the Wii. I give Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare: Reflex 4 out of 5 clips of AMMO!!!
