To get started, I will admit that I love the RE games so I may be a bit prejudice. I'd say "I am sorry" but well... That'd be a damn lie.

You're gonna hate me but I have to blow the ending of the last ending... Yeah the main character at the end as a SHITLOAD of clones... If you wonder how much a shitload is... Umm... At least a hundred dozen. Anyways, the movie begins with the army of like 10 Alice clones (who isn't in ANY of the games) assaulting the Tokyo base of the evil Umbrella corporation which is responsible for creating a biological virus that creates zombies and mutants, and the zombies and mutants are responsible for pretty much wiping out all life on the planet and you know, typical apocalyptic zombie-ness. Well the Alice clones fail to stop the company's Chairman, Wesker, and he escapes in a helicopter. Only one Alice remains, the REAL one, and she looks for survivors after losing her T-Virus cells and all her powers. She finds an old friend, Claire (Who IS from Resident Evil games) who doesn't remember anything and Alice decides lets board a plane and go to LA where she finds survivors including Claire's brother Chris inside a prison surrounded by zomies... I find this hilarious as the guy that plays Chris is that guy from Prison Break who breaks his brother out, and he's the one with the master plan to escape the prison and get away from the zombies...

"I broke my brother outta prison, now I gotta break my sister out and make sure zombies don't eat her?! What the Hell's wrong with my family?!?!?! ... Shiiiiiiiiiit."
- Chris Redfield

Don't think I'm just razzing the movie, there are in fact really cool elements. I love how there's a mysterious feel. One example, the zombies are no longer the slow, dim witted, trip over their feet kind but now are more like the creatures from Resident Evil 4 who AREN'T infected with the T-Virus but a parasite called Las Plagas. However the movie doesn't explain why the zombies are different now, and that kinda killed some joy. However that joy was soon returned with the Executioner...

"Hm? Oh, don't mind me. I just came to use the bathroom."
- The Executioner

I was rather disappointed in Resident Evil Extinction, the predecessor to Afterlife, as there wasn't really any mutants save for Tyrant at the end of the movie and some dogs... There's always the dogs. So I was happy to see that they did the whole "Let's not just fill the movie with zombies, that was done the 1st time" kinda thing in this film and actually brought forth a non-end-of-movie fight scene that really feels like a big boss battle in a video game.

Frankly I feel I've already revealed too much for those who wanna see the movie so in closing, it was okay... Nothing really great to me, too much guns and ammo for a zombie movie based off of a horror game (Do you have any idea how many times I've ran outta ammo and ran away screaming?!?! A SHITLOAD!), okay job wih acting I guess. I would say 3 outta 5 but seeing how they royally messed up the game's storyline with the characters, threw in WAY too much action, failed to say what happened with the zombies changing, where the Hell Jill went from 2 movies ago (Chris's partner in the series). screw Paul W. S. Anderson, 2 outta 5 zombie mutts for this film...

And I still hate his guts for that Alien Versus Predator crapfest!
